Dear Friends,

Vashi Cultural Association will be celebrating 7th year of Durgotsav this year and will be held at it's original venue i,e, at ICL School Ground,Sector 15,Vashi from 2nd October to 6th October,2011.We welcome all of you to participate in this grand festival.Pre-puja competitions of Drawing,Singing,Recitation etc for children of various age group will also be held as usual.Traditions of maintaining our rich cultural heritage will also be given topmost priority.

With due respect to the feelings of no of residents , this year we tried to organise one Sarbojonin Durgapuja in Vashi jointly with New Bombay Bengali Association without compromising our traditions of maintaining rich heritage of unity , diversity and equality.For this purpose we both VCA and NBBA jointly worked out the modalities.However this noble action could not be carried forward since the Managing Committee of NBBA have failed to get it ratified by their General Body due to objections raised by few of their members.It is unfortunate and both the Association also lost an opportunity of bringing all of our residents together in one platform besides saving of lot of money which could have been otherwise utilised by extending services for the betterment of the residents/community.

Vashi Cultural Association's Social Responsibility Group ( SRG ) which started with a corpus of fund contributed by members and few others,continue providing financial assistance to few needy families for medical and financial requirements.This needs to be strengthened both by improving fund collection as well as distribution to help deserving people of the community .People are invited to give sujjestions for this noble cause.

All these days we were trying hard to find a solution to increase network of active members.Even though there is no definite solutions probably recognitions are the key factor to motivate people to be active in our type of organisation.The Managing Committee is aware of this and keen to get new active members to take forward the activity of the Association.

At the end I would appeal to all our Patrons,Well-wishers and members to extend full support , both physical and financial , by way of giving advertisements in our Durgapuja Souvenir / Corporate Sponsorships / Display Banners etc which will help us to accomplish our task.We have , in the past , received these support from you and expect to continue getting same in future also.
